Food product labels utilize a wide variety of label materials with different properties, tailored to the specific needs of each product. A general requirement for label materials is resistance to mechanical damage during product transport. For chilled and frozen products, labeling must be resistant to the effects of moisture. This is achieved either by selecting moisture-resistant materials or by applying a protective (laminated) coating.
